Hearty Potato Pan

The perfect hearty potato pan recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 6 middle Potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Glass Sauerkraut drained
  • 350 ml Vegetable broth
  • 80 ml White wine
  • 2 Juniper berries
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoon Applesauce
  • 5 tablespoon Butter
  • 5 tablespoon Milk
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 Kabanossi sausages
  • 2 Parsley
  1. Wash the potatoes, brush them off a little and cook with the skin on.
  2. Peel the onion, cut into cubes and sauté in a pan with hot oil.
  3. Now add the sauerkraut, vegetable stock and the wine, add the juniper berries, bay leaf and the applesauce and let everything cook for about 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in the milk and 3 tablespoons of butter, season with salt and sugar
  5. Now quarter the slightly cooled potatoes lengthways and fry them in a pan with a little oil and the rest of the butter, season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cut the sausage into slices and fry briefly with the potatoes, and sprinkle everything with parsley.
  7. Now everything is ready and we can arrange everything on a plate and enjoy with a beer – if you want – enjoy your meal; 🙂
