delicious for brunch or party buffet
Grease a 26 cm springform pan and preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Mix the flour with 120 g grated cheese, baking powder, salt and sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk together all the “wet” ingredients, i.e. sour cream, eggs and oil. Wash the spring onions and bell peppers, cut them into fine slices or cubes and stir them into the sour cream mixture along with the ham. Now fold in the flour and cheese mixture (but don’t mix for too long, otherwise the batter will become tough), season and pour into the pan. Finally, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Bake the cake in the hot oven for 25 – 30 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before removing it from the pan. Tip: If “just” salt and pepper isn’t enough seasoning for you, you can of course experiment: e.g. with paprika powder, curry powder, Provençal herbs, etc. But be careful with the salt, the ham may already be salty enough.
