Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g butter
  • 50 g marzipan – raw mass
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • ½ lemon(s), grated peel
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 125 g powdered sugar

Mix the softened butter with the powdered sugar, marzipan, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest. Sift the flour over the butter mixture and knead it in. Form the dough into equal-sized logs about 5 cm in diameter, wrap the logs in aluminum foil, and let them rest in the refrigerator overnight. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Brush the dough logs with the beaten egg yolk and roll them in the sugar. Cut 0.5 cm-thick slices, place them on a baking sheet, and bake on the middle rack for 10-15 minutes. Let the cookies cool on a wire rack.
