Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g butter, soft
  • 6 eggs, size M
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 300 g flour
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 125 g almond(s), ground
  • 1 tbsp water, as needed
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

crispy waffles that can be stored longer

Cream softened butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs until fluffy, adding a pinch of salt. Combine and sift the flour and baking powder, then gradually stir in the ground almonds. Stir in the rum and a little water, if needed. The batter should not be runny, but rather remain somewhat firm. Bake spoonfuls at a time in a waffle iron until golden brown. Once cooled, the hearts can be separated and stored in a cookie tin, or sprinkled with powdered sugar and enjoyed immediately.
