Ingredients
for the sauce
- 250 g Sweet cream
- 250 g Sour cream
- 125 ml Fresh milk
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 -2 tbsp Vinegar (according to taste)
- Possibly salt (be careful with salted herrings)
- Pepper
also
- 600 g Salted herring fillets without skin (alternatively herring)
- 100 g Diced pickles
- 150 g Cut the onions into quarters and cut into fine strips
- 1 Apple in cubes
Instructions
First prepare the sauce
- Mix the sour cream, sweet cream, milk, sugar, pepper and vinegar well. Do not salt for the time being, as the salted herring fillets themselves contain a lot of salt. If matjes is used, you can add a little salt straight away.
- Now cut the herrings into small pieces and add to the sauce with the diced cucumber, onion strips and apple pieces. Mix everything well. Let steep in the refrigerator for a few hours. Finally stir again and add seasoning if necessary.
- We eat jacket potatoes with it. Enjoy the meal
