Homemade caramel pudding

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 ml cream or milk
  • 1 packet of Bourbon vanilla sugar
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the sugar and stir until caramelized. When the caramel is golden yellow, gently deglaze it with the cream and stir until completely dissolved. Then add the vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt. In a bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a little milk, making sure there are no lumps. Now add the milk-starch mixture to the cream and bring to a boil until the pudding reaches the desired consistency. The pudding tastes delicious both hot and cold. If you like, you can replace the cream with milk.
