Homemade Sweet and Sour Onion Soup
The perfect homemade sweet and sour onion soup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Yellow pepper
- 1 Red pepper
- 500 g Onions
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 Stalk Lemongrass stick
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 30 ml Balsamic vinegar
- 20 ml Sesame oil
- 1 l Poultry broth
- 1 tsp Curry powder
- 1 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Pepper
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
- 1 pole Spring onion
- Wash and core the peppers and cut into fine strips. Peel the onions and garlic, cut the onions into fine rings and dice the garlic.
- Cut the lower white part of the lemongrass into fine rings. Then caramelize the brown sugar in a saucepan and deglaze with the vinegar.
- Add the vegetables and sesame oil and stir-fry everything briefly.
- Pour the chicken stock, add the soy sauce and simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Then add the remaining ingredients and simmer for another 20 minutes. Finally, season to taste and serve. Tip: This recipe goes well with glass noodles as a soup.
