Honey-mustard sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, neutral
  • 3 tbsp gherkins, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp corn kernels, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp red pepper(s), finely chopped
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Barbecue sauce / dip

Thoroughly mix the mustard, honey, and oil. Squeeze the cucumber cubes thoroughly until no more juice comes out. Stir the finely chopped vegetables into the mustard mixture. Briefly puree everything with a hand blender—just enough to chop the vegetables slightly, but not to puree them completely. The sauce should remain slightly chunky! Season with salt and pepper. The ratio of mustard to honey can be adjusted to taste. The sauce goes well with grilled food—including vegetable skewers. It’s also suitable as a dip for bread and fresh vegetables, as a spread, or as a seasoning for sandwiches, etc.
