Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
It doesn’t always have to be Hawaiian toast
To prepare, finely grate the mountain cheese. Chop the herbs and halve the pineapple slices. Whisk the egg in a small bowl. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. In the meantime, roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet. Place the cooked ham in the center of the puff pastry. Spread the chopped herbs on top. Layer the halved pineapple slices, staggered, so that they are evenly distributed over the entire surface. Season with pepper, if desired. Finally, spread the finely grated cheese over the filling. Now fold in the ends of the puff pastry on the right and left to seal the ends. Then fold the long sides towards the center to form a strudel. Brush the strudel with the beaten egg and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. The strudel should be nicely browned. Serve with a fresh salad.
