Ingredients

Hot dogs

  • 8 Sausages
  • 8 Hot dog bun
  • 8 slices Sliced cheese

roasted onions

  • 1 kg Onions
  • Flour
  • Oil for frying

Hot dog sauce

  • 6 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 4 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp Mustard
  • 2 tsp Honey
  • 1 pinch Brown sugar
  • 0,5 tbsp Vinegar
  • Chilli from the mill, sweet paprika, hot rose paprika

Instructions

The fried onions

  • Peel the onions, cut into rings and turn in flour.
  • Bake in hot oil.

Hot dog sauce

  • Mix all the ingredients for the sauce together well.

The hot dogs

  • Let the sausages soak in hot, not boiling water for a good 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the rolls open but don't cut them and heat them up with steam (took a baking dish, filled it with enough water and placed it on the stove. Then put a wire rack and the hot dog rolls on top). This type of preparation has the advantage that the rolls do not become too hard.
  • Take the hot dog rolls off the stove after about 10 minutes, add a slice of cheese and a sausage and then briefly put them in the preheated oven.
  • Now just brush with the sauce and fried onions and you're done 🙂 The hot dog can of course be topped with other ingredients, e.g. pickled cucumbers, sauerkraut, etc. Superkochhasi wishes you a good appetite 🙂
