Housewife-style Matjes Fillet Salad with Green Beans and Jacket Potatoes
The perfect housewife-style matjes fillet salad with green beans and jacket potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Green beans:
- 250 g Green beans
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 2 big pinches Coarse sea salt from the mill
- 2 big pinches Colorful pepper from the mill
Jacket potatoes:
- 300 g Triplets (small, waxy potatoes / 10 pieces)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Ground turmeric
- 1 tsp Whole caraway seeds
Serve:
- 2 Stalk Parsley for garnish
Matjes fillet salad, housewife style:
- I prepared the matjessalat the day before, as it had to soak in the fridge overnight. (For 4 people!) My recipe: *) Herring fillet salad, housewife-style
- Clean / remove the threads from the beans, wash them, cook them in salted water (1 teaspoon salt) for about 10 minutes, drain through a kitchen sieve and drain well. Pour butter (2 tbsp) into the hot pot / let it melt, add the green beans, toss in them and season with coarse sea salt from the mill (2 big pinches) and colored pepper from the mill (2 big pinches).
Jacket potatoes:
- Wash the potatoes (triplets) and boil them in salted water (1 teaspoon salt), ground with turmeric (1 teaspoon) and caraway seeds whole for about 20 minutes, drain, leave to cool a little and peel off.
Serve:
- Serve the housewife-style matjes fillet salad with green beans and jacket potatoes, garnished with parsley.
