How to Remove Burnt In?

A moment is enough – the pot is already bubbling over and everything lands on the stovetop. But don’t worry: you can remove burned-in. And all without expensive chemicals. All you need: baking soda or vinegar. With these home remedies, you can remove even stubborn incrustations gently and quickly.

Remove burnt-in with baking soda: Here’s how

Pure baking soda, which is found in baking powder or baking soda, combines with water to form a strong cleaning solution. This lye splits burnt fat or proteins into acids. And these, in turn, form into salts that break up encrustations. Sounds complicated, but it’s all the easier to use. By the way, if you’ve ever wondered, “What is baking soda?” – you will find the answer in our expert knowledge.

How to use baking soda as a home remedy:

  • Mix water and baking soda. Use a teaspoon of baking soda for every 100ml.
  • Pour the liquid into the affected utensil to remove burnt-on grease. So in a pot, pan, or baking tray.
  • Heat the mixture on the stove or in the oven.
  • Leave the liquid on for at least twenty minutes.
  • Finally, wipe off the cooled surfaces with a damp sponge.

By the way, if you clean a baking tray in this way, you also remove burnt-in grease from the oven. The fumes from the sheet metal loosen encrustations in the entire device.

Tip: If you want to remove burnt-on fat from a stovetop, you need a solid paste. To do this, mix equal parts baking soda and water. Apply the mixture to the stain and leave it on for an hour. However, never use agents with chlorine for stainless steel utensils, as this will attack the material. Alternatively, the citric acid works instead of baking soda.

Remove burnt-in residue with vinegar: clean cooker, pots, etc

Household vinegar is a dilute solution of acetic acid in water. You can also use this acid to remove burnt in from casserole dishes – or from any other utensil. For use as a cleaning agent, mix vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:3. Proceed with vinegar in the same way as with caustic soda.

Important: Always open the windows when removing burnt milk or burnt oil! Vinegar creates caustic fumes.
