Hunter's schnitzel with fire brigade sauce and spirelli

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 1 hunting sausage or vegan meat sausage
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 3 eggs
  • e.g. breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper
  • n. B. Butter or vegan butter for frying
  • 4 tbsp butter or vegan butter
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 150 ml water
  • 1 ½ bottles of ketchup
  • salt and pepper
  • some sugar
  • 500 g spirals

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

For the schnitzel, cut the sausage into slices approximately 1 cm thick, then coat them first in flour, then in the egg, and finally in the breadcrumbs. For the vegan meat sausage, do not dip the slices in the egg! Then fry them in plenty of butter or vegan butter until crispy. For the sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan and heat it, then sauté the onion. Then add the tomato paste and flour and sauté, stirring constantly. Add enough water to achieve a creamy consistency. Add the ketchup, stir in, and bring to a boil briefly. Season to taste with salt, a little pepper, and a pinch of sugar if desired. Please do not experiment with other spices!
