Ice Chai Latte

The perfect ice chai latte recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,5 liter Boiling water
  • 6 tbsp Black tea
  • 5 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 6 Cardamom pods
  • 1,5 Poles Cinammon
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 piece Fresh ginger approx. Table tennis ball large
  • 0,5 piece Star anise
  • 1 pole Vanilla
  • 500 ml Milk + milk to froth
  • Ice cubes
  1. Peel and halve the ginger. Put the cinnamon, the cardamom pods, the black tea, the cloves, the star anise and the vanilla in a jug (2 liter capacity) and pour the boiling water over them. Let it steep for 4-6 minutes.
  2. Pour the tea through a sieve and sift the tea leaves. Remove the remaining spices from the tea leaves (rinse) and put them back into the tea.
  3. Add the milk and sweeten to taste. Put the chai in the fridge for about 3 hours.
  4. Froth about 100-150 ml milk. Fill 4 large tall glasses with a few ice cubes and pour the ice-cold chai over them. Put the milk foam on top as a topping. Also very tasty with a topping of whipped cream and caramel sauce.
