Cookie Cutters with Red Chai Latte

dough

  • 360 g Flour
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 0,5 tsp Cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp Vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp Ginger bread spice
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • Food color red
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 piece Lemon peel
  • 1 piece Orange peel
  • 200 g Cold butter
  • 2,5 tbsp Buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 2 tsp Baking powder

cream

  • 50 g Soft butter
  • 100 g Cream cheese double cream setting
  • 125 g Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla pods (pulp only)

Goes well with: Red Chai Latte

  • 0,5 liter Water
  • 2 packet Chai Latte
  • 28 g Red espresso
  • 0,5 liter Milk
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

  1. Place the flour mixed with cocoa powder and salt on the work surface, make a well in the middle and add the egg. Whisk the egg, vanilla sugar, gingerbread spice, sugar and red food coloring with a fork. Pour zest of lemon and orange over it. Place finely chopped butter on the edge of the flour.
  1. Chop everything with a large knife and keep pushing the dough together. Knead the mixture into a smooth dough and add the buttermilk. Mix the vinegar and baking powder together and knead quickly into the dough.
  1. Shape the dough into a ball and refrigerate for up to 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 180 °. Roll out the dough and cut out with molds. Bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes.

  1. Mix the butter with the double cream cheese and the powdered sugar to a cream, add the pulp of a vanilla pod. Spread it on the cookies and decorate as desired.

Red Chai Latte

  1. Brew Chai tea with water, add 28 g. Give red espresso and press through the French press coffee pot. Add warm milk with milk foam and sprinkle with cinnamon.
