Indian carrot and ginger spread

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 100 g carrot(s), grated
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 piece(s) ginger
  • 1 small onion(s), red
  • 400 g cream cheese, reduced fat
  • 1 handful of chives, chopped
  • 1 handful of parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 pinch of sea salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper, finely ground
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • some lemon zest
  • 2 baguettes

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

simply great as an amuse-bouche or when grilling

Finely grate the carrots. Immediately add the lemon juice to the carrots and mix. Peel and very finely chop the garlic, ginger, and red onion. Finely chop the chives and parsley. Add everything to the bowl with the carrots along with the cream cheese, paprika, and pepper and mix well. Season to taste with sea salt and a little lemon zest. Cut the white bread slightly diagonally into approximately 2 cm thick slices and serve with the spread.
