Indonesian rice meat

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 200 g pork (preferably fillet, but schnitzel will also do)
  • 125 g rice
  • 2 tsp curry
  • 250 ml broth
  • 200 g mushrooms, fresh
  • 2 bananas
  • curry
  • Oil, for frying
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar, to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

After all, retro is in….was my first home-cooked recipe

Heat the oil, fry the strips of meat, add the onion rings. Briefly brown everything, sprinkle with rice, dust with curry, sauté briefly, and add the stock. Cook for about 20 minutes. Briefly fry the fresh mushrooms (even though retro recipes are back in fashion, canned mushrooms are no longer necessary these days…) in oil, preferably quarter them, and add them to the rice mixture. Slice the bananas and add them too. Let everything simmer for about 5 minutes and season generously with curry, salt, pepper, and sugar. I made this recipe when I was 16, and it holds great value in my memory. I still cook it sometimes for Mr. Koelkast, because it’s still delicious.
