Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 cup(s) semolina (soft wheat semolina)
  • 50 g pine nuts
  • 2 ½ cups sugar
  • 100 g butter or margarine
  • 4 cups milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

sweet semolina helva with pine nuts

Place the butter or margarine in a saucepan and melt. Add the semolina and pine nuts and toast over low heat until the mixture turns golden yellow. Heat the milk and sugar separately (bring to a boil once and let cool) and add to the semolina mixture, stirring well. Reduce the heat, cover the pan, and let it stand until the semolina solidifies. Delicious as a hot or cold dessert.
