That’s why processed cheese is so unhealthy
There are actually a lot of good things in cheese like calcium, protein, vitamins A and D, and minerals.
- The body needs the natural phosphate salts contained in the cheese for energy metabolism and for the bones. Our body can easily process the natural phosphates themselves. Some of the salts get into the blood; the rest is excreted naturally.
- Processed cheese, however, contains artificial phosphates, and they are harmful to health: the body usually cannot use them.
- Almost all of the artificial phosphate salts pass into the blood and have to be filtered out by the kidneys. However, if the amount of salt is too high, the kidneys cannot clean the blood properly. The artificial phosphates migrate through the body and settle in the inner walls of the vessels.
- The hardened inner vessel walls increase the risk of suffering a stroke or heart attack. Skin and muscles are also affected, as they age faster due to the damaged inner walls of the vessels and the weakened blood circulation.
- In addition, the artificial phosphates are known as calcium robbers and thus increase the risk of osteoporosis not inconsiderably.
