Original recipe from my mother-in-law from Southern Italy! I make it very often, it always works

Weigh the eggs. Add equal amounts of flour and sugar, along with the baking powder, and mix with a mixer. Grease and flour a round baking pan and bake in the oven at 170°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes (baking time depends on the size of the pan). Let cool. Brew 1 cup of strong coffee (espresso or instant). Cut the base in half and sprinkle a little amaretto and coffee (9 or 10 tablespoons of coffee and perhaps a little amaretto on each half) on each half (to taste). Not too much, or it will be soggy; not too little, or it will lose its flavor! Make a custard and pour it onto the cake layers. Let cool slightly. Close. Decorate with cream (made with sugar and cream stabilizer) and lightly sprinkle with cocoa powder (dark).
