Italian pasta salad with Parma ham

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g pasta
  • salt water
  • 200 g air-dried ham (e.g. Serrano or Parma ham)
  • 250 g cocktail tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp cane sugar
  • 15 g basil leaves

Cook the pasta in salted water and let it cool (if you’re in a hurry, you can also rinse it with cold water). Cut the ham into strips or tear it by hand and fry it in a pan without oil and let it cool. Depending on their size, halve or slice the tomatoes. Then mix all the ingredients together. For the sauce, crush 2 garlic cloves and mix with 4 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, 2 teaspoons of brown sugar, and the finely chopped basil until the sugar has dissolved. Mix the sauce with the salad ingredients and let it stand for a while. Stir again before serving.
