Italian sauerkraut casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 30 g fat
  • 100 g bacon, streaky
  • 2 onions
  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • 125g salami
  • 125 ml white wine, dry
  • 125 ml meat broth
  • 250 ml cream
  • 125 ml sour cream
  • 50 g Parmesan, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel and slice the potatoes, dice the bacon and onions. Heat the fat in a heatproof dish and fry the bacon. Add the potato slices, diced onions, and sauerkraut and sauté. Dice the salami, add it to the dish, and pour the wine and broth over the dish. Cover and simmer the stew in a preheated oven at 225°C for 45 minutes. Mix the sweet and sour cream and pour over the dish. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake for 15 minutes.
