Kasseler – Sauerkraut – Stew

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g boneless smoked pork
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 1 package of raisins
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled, diced
  • 1 cup of cream
  • Milk
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • curry powder
  • nutmeg
  • Paprika powder or chili powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Brown the smoked pork in the oil in a large pot until well browned on all sides. Then add the sauerkraut, raisins, and potatoes, continue to cook briefly, then pour the cream over everything and add a little milk, but don’t let it completely cover the meat. Continue simmering over low heat until the potatoes are tender. Season to taste. It tastes even better the next day!
