Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- n. B. Flour
- 10 dumplings, homemade or from the refrigerated section
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 pinch(s) allspice
- salt and pepper
- 2 ½ tbsp clarified butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Prepare the dumplings and let them cool. Then cut them into 4 slices about 1 1/2 cm thick. Then roll them in flour and lightly dust them. In a deep dish, mix slightly warmed milk with a pinch of allspice, salt, and pepper. Dip the floured dumpling slices completely into the milk mixture and then coat them thoroughly in breadcrumbs. Heat the clarified butter in a pan until very hot. Then add the dumplings to the pan and fry them on both sides until crispy and brown. I got this recipe from Silesia. It’s an excellent side dish for meat and red cabbage.
