Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tbsp thyme, dried
- ½ tbsp basil, dried
- 1 tsp oregano, dried
- 1 tbsp celery salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds, ground
- 4 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 tbsp garlic salt
- 1 tbsp ginger powder
- 3 tbsp white pepper
Instructions

Combine the various spices and salts in a mortar or spice grinder and grind finely. For a more even and finer blend, first grind or pound the dry herbs. Garlic powder can also be used instead of garlic salt. The resulting amount of spice mix is calculated for mixing with 240 grams of flour, which can then be used like breadcrumbs. However, the spice mix can also be used as a rub or mixed with oil as a marinade. This is supposedly the original spice mix, discovered by a journalist from the Chicago Tribune.
