Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 40 g oat flakes
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 75 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp oil, for frying
  • oregano
  • Paprika powder
  • pepper
  • Garlic
  • Tomato paste

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Vegetarian meatballs without egg, low in fat, low in calories

Finely dice the onions and sauté in a pan with a little water until translucent. Peel and grate the carrots, and place them in a bowl. Add the oats and mix. Add the mixture to the onions and pour in the vegetable stock. Heat until the liquid has been absorbed by the oats. Season with paprika, oregano, tomato paste, pepper, garlic, etc. Leave to cool in a bowl for about 1/2 hour. Form patties. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a non-stick pan and fry the patties on both sides until crispy. Can be served as a burger, with a bun/toast, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, sauce, or cheese. Tastes good cold as a snack. You can also fry the dough directly in the pan, e.g. as a substitute for minced meat in tomato sauce.
