Kindergarten – American

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 70 g butter, soft
  • 90 g sugar
  • ½ packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 250 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ⅛ liter milk
  • 125 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp water, hot

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

enough for about 10 pieces

In a bowl, cream the softened butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and mix until a smooth batter forms. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir into the batter, then add the milk. Mix everything briefly again. Now use two tablespoons to place about ten heaps of dough, spaced well apart, on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (convection oven) on the middle rack for about 15 to 20 minutes until light golden. Once the American cookies have cooled, mix a glaze from powdered sugar and water and spread it on the bottom, flat side. Tip: Decorate with Smarties if you like. I made these over 25 years ago in a kindergarten baking class and still enjoy making them today.
