Kiwi and strawberry salad

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g strawberries, large
  • 4 kiwis
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp honey, light
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp orange liqueur or orange juice
  • 2 tbsp almond(s), flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Wash the strawberries, pat dry, and remove the stems. Peel the kiwis thinly. Cut both into 0.5 cm thick slices. In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice with honey, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and orange liqueur or juice until smooth. Arrange the fruit on 4 plates in a shingle-like pattern and drizzle the prepared orange syrup evenly over the fruit. Let the fruit salad marinate in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Heat a large, non-stick pan and toast the almonds without fat until golden brown, stirring continuously. Sprinkle the almond flakes evenly over the fruit. For those with a particularly sweet tooth, you can, of course, top with whipped cream.
