A recipe for a delicious breakfast from a Jewish friend
Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan oven) with a rack in the middle. At the same time, put the butter in a baking dish (approx. 20×30 cm) and place it in the preheated oven so that the butter melts. Note: The following preparation only takes about 5 minutes. If it needs longer, keep an eye on the butter and remove the baking dish from the oven earlier if necessary, as you don’t want the butter to brown. Now put the flour, sugar, salt, vanilla sugar, eggs, and 1/3 of the milk in a bowl and whisk until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Then stir in the rest of the milk. Remove the baking dish from the oven and swirl it slightly so that the melted butter is evenly distributed over the base. Pour the mixture into the baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the edges turn brown. Cut into pieces while still warm and serve. No side dishes are necessary.
