Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g kohlrabi
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 375 ml vegetable broth
  • 150 g cream
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel the kohlrabi bulb and cut into 1 cm thick slices, then into sticks. Melt the butter in a wide saucepan, stir in the flour, and cook over medium heat until light yellow. Pour in the broth and cream and mix well. Season with salt and pepper. Add the kohlrabi sticks and simmer covered over low heat for 15 minutes, until the kohlrabi is tender and the sauce is creamy. Stir frequently. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste.
