White asparagus with butter and Parmesan

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g asparagus, white
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • some butter
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp Parmesan, freshly grated or sliced
  • n. B. Butter flakes
  • some salt and pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 22 minutes

This is how I like to eat my asparagus

Bring a pot of water, salt, sugar, and a knob of butter to a boil. Meanwhile, peel the asparagus and trim the ends. Add the asparagus to the boiling water and cook until al dente, about 12 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the asparagus. Remove the asparagus from the water and divide it among three plates. Sprinkle with lemon juice, knobs of butter, pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese. If you’re serving the asparagus as a main course, double the recipe and serve with boiled potatoes.
