Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g Kritharaki (rice-shaped noodles)
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 60 g tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 dash of olive oil
  • 1 dashes lemon juice
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook the kritharaki al dente according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, combine the tomato paste, crushed garlic, a generous splash of olive oil, a squeeze of lemon juice, a pinch of cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Sauté the onions in a pan with a little oil for about 3 minutes until translucent. Mix with the stirred tomato paste and fry for 2 minutes. Drain the pasta and mix with the paste. Serve warm. Delicious with hearty Greek meat dishes like bifteki or souvlaki.
