- 1 tbsp lavender flowers, fresh or dried

an alternative to vanilla sugar
Pick fresh lavender blossoms or grind dried flowers in a mortar and pestle and mix with the sugar. Pour the sugar into a tightly sealed jam jar. Use sparingly instead of vanilla sugar. Tip: Harvest lavender blossoms from mid-August, when the flowers are not yet fully open, to ensure they develop their full aroma.
