Lebanese roasted almonds

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 tbsp oil (sunflower)
  • 300 g almonds, whole, blanched, peeled
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cumin, ground
  • 1 tsp chili pepper(s), dried, crushed
  • n. B. Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

with sugar and spices

Heat the oil over medium heat, add 2/3 of the sugar, melt, then add the almonds to the pan and stir until caramelized. While the almonds are still hot, place them in a bowl and mix with the cumin, chili, and salt, if desired. Spread them on a baking sheet, sprinkle with the remaining sugar, and let them cool. The almonds will keep for several weeks if stored in an airtight container.
