Leek gratin a la fire poppy seed

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 stalk(s) leeks
  • 6 large potatoes, waxy
  • 200 g ham, air-dried
  • nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • 40 g butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 ml sweet cream
  • 150 g Gouda cheese, freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender. Peel and thinly slice them. Wash and slice the leeks. Cut the air-dried ham into strips. Grease a baking dish with butter. Alternate the potatoes, ham, and leeks. Season each layer with salt and pepper. The potatoes should be on top. Place a few knobs of butter between the layers. Whisk the eggs with the cream and seasonings, then pour over the casserole. Sprinkle with freshly grated Gouda cheese and bake at 200°C for 25 minutes.
