Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 6 large king prawns with shell
- 1 lemon(s)
- 1 onion(s) or shallot
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 pinch of chili flakes (preferably really hot)
- 3 garlic cloves
- olive oil
- butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
simply as a starter
Thinly slice the garlic and onions. Sear the prawns in olive oil for 3 minutes on one side. Turn the prawns over, reduce the heat, and add the garlic and onions. Deglaze with the lemon juice and honey, then add the chili flakes and salt. Finally, melt a knob of butter to thicken the sauce. This should take 3 minutes (this will ensure the onions are lightly sautéed and everything is cooked through without the prawn meat being overcooked). Serve directly from the pan or arrange on a plate. Tips: Sometimes I add the butter along with the lemon juice, depending on how much liquid is in the pan. You can also omit the garlic, but I always find it nice. Fresh herbs like dill or wild garlic also go well with it.
