Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 1 kg lemon(s), untreated, unwaxed
- 1 kg sugar
- 3 tbsp grappa
Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour
Lemon jam
Wash and scrub the lemons thoroughly. Cut them into thin slices using a cucumber slicer and remove the pips. Place the lemon slices in a large pot and cover with water overnight. The next day, let the mixture simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring constantly. Then stir in the sugar (not gelling sugar!!!) and let it simmer for 3 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the grappa. Pour the jam into jars with screw-top lids and let it stand undisturbed for 10 days. Tastes heavenly on warm toast.
