Limoncello Quark Cake with Hallor Balls
The perfect limoncello quark cake with hallor balls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
dough
- 2 piece Eggs
- 100 g Butter
- 100 g Sugar
- 200 g Flour
- 2 Msp Baking powder
- 1 Shot Limoncello
cream
- 500 g Quark
- 150 g Powdered sugar
- 12 sheet Gelatin
- 0,2 l Limoncello
Molding
- 1 packet Cake glaze clear
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 2 cl Limoncello
Decoration
- 1 pack Hallor balls “Limoncello” – 12 pieces – Halloren has an online shop
- For the dough, stir the eggs with the butter until foamy, work in the sugar, the limoncello and finally the flour and baking powder. Process everything into a smooth dough, then add the milk. Grease and flour the base of the springform pan, pour the dough into the mold and smooth it out. Bake at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes (make a stick test)
- For the cream, stir the quark until creamy. Stir in sugar and limoncello. Dissolve the softened gelatin in 30 ml of hot water and allow to cool a little, then mix with 2 tablespoons of quark mass and stir the mixture into the rest of the quark mass.
- Spread the cream on the cooled cake base and smooth it out. For the icing, mix the powder with the sugar, bring to the boil with 200 ml of water as instructed and, after cooling down a little, add the limoncello.
- Pour the topping on the cream. Place the Hallor balls evenly on the edge of the cake. Let the cake set overnight in the refrigerator (or on the balcony in winter). To serve, loosen the cake from the edge of the springform pan with a small sharp knife and remove the edge. The cake can now be cut for everyday use. For festive occasions they are served on a cake plate (possibly with a doily).
- Due to the alcohol in the cream and topping, the cake is nothing for children and people who do not like alcohol.
