Linzer Torte made from wholemeal flour

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g flour (whole wheat flour)
  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g nuts, grated (walnuts, hazelnuts, etc.)
  • 250 g cane sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (cream of tartar)
  • 1 pinch(s) cinnamon, can be a little more
  • 1 pinch of clove powder
  • Cake icing (sugar or chocolate icing)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Beat the egg yolks with the butter and sugar until fluffy. Combine the flour and cream of tartar. Add the nuts, cinnamon, clove powder, and flour and cream of tartar to the egg mixture. Finally, fold in the beaten egg whites. Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for 50 minutes (or a little longer depending on the browning). If desired, top with sugar or chocolate glaze.
