Low Carb Pita with Chicken, Tzaziki & Salad

The perfect low carb pita with chicken, tzaziki & salad recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the pita flatbreads

  • 3 Pc. Egg yolk
  • 3 Pc. Egg white
  • 0,5 tsp Baking powder
  • 100 g Cream cheese with herbs low-fat level
  • Salt

For covering

  • 300 g Tzaziki
  • 300 g Cocktail tomatoes
  • 0,5 Pc. Vegetable onion
  • 0,5 Pc Iceberg lettuce
  • 400 g Chicken breast
  • Sweet chilli sauce as desired
  • Salt, pepper, paprika seasoning

Flat cakes

  1. Separate egg yolk & egg white.
  2. Beat the egg whites really hard.
  3. Beat up the egg yolks, mix with the cream cheese, season with salt and add the baking powder.
  4. Gradually add the whipped egg white to the egg yolk and cream cheese mixture. Carefully & slowly.
  5. Place about 6 flat cakes on a baking sheet with baking paper and cook at 145-150 ° (top and bottom heat) for 25 minutes. put in the oven.

Covering

  1. Wash the salad & cut into pieces. Wash and quarter the cocktail tomatoes.
  2. You can make the tzaziki yourself – see also my cookbook, or you can use something you have bought.
  3. Wash the chicken breast or chicken minute schnitzel and cut into small pieces. Season with paprika, salt and pepper and put in the pan.

Preparing

  1. Put the flatbreads on a plate and brush with tzaziki. Spread the lettuce & cocktail tomatoes over it and finally spread the chicken pieces over it.
  2. Since we like it a little more spicy, there was a little dash of sweet chili sauce as a topping. But also tastes good without 🙂
  3. Enjoy it!
  4. Info: The cakes are very thin and have nothing in common with the well-known pita bread. But they are a pretty tasteless alternative if you want to save a few calories, or rather carbohydrates. Of course you can also just take the ready-made pita breads from the supermarket or from the Greeks you trust 🙂
