Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g whole wheat flour
  • 30 g fresh yeast
  • 250 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 80 g butter
  • 100 g cane sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 lemon(s), zest
  • 1 liter of fat for frying
  • Cane sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Fried pastries, makes about 50 cakes

Knead the dough from flour, yeast, milk, butter, sugar, salt, and lemon zest and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Form 50 balls, flatten them, and let them rise on a kitchen towel for another 30 minutes. Heat the frying fat in a large pot and fry the prilleken until golden brown. Sprinkle with sugar and eat while still hot. Serve with applesauce or other compote.
