Lumberjack Pan
The perfect lumberjack pan recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 300 g Flour
- 70 g Butter
- 125 ml Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tbsp Clarified butter
- 2 Onions
- 750 g Mushrooms, according to your taste
- 125 g Bacon cubes
- 125 g Ham cubes
- 200 g Cream
- 125 g Grated mountain cheese
- Salt pepper
- Melt the butter and stir together with the flour, eggs, milk and a pinch of salt.
- Cut small knobs from the mixture with the help of two teaspoons or form small dumplings from this amount of dough. Let simmer in plenty of salted water that is no longer boiling for about 10-15 minutes.
- Lift the cams / dumplings out of the water with a slotted spoon, quench and set aside.
- Brush the mushrooms and cut into bite-sized pieces. Peel the onions and finely dice them.
- Heat the butter lard in a pan and sauté the onion cubes until translucent. Add the bacon and ham cubes and sweat with them
- Add the mushrooms and heat while stirring until the water has evaporated.
- Stir in the cream, add the dumplings, season with salt and pepper and heat everything. Sprinkle with mountain cheese and let it melt with the lid closed.
- Arrange the lumberjack pan on preheated plates and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley if necessary.
