Lumpia

Spread the love

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, half and half
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • ½ bulb(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot(s), finely chopped
  • 150 g raisins
  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika powder
  • Puff pastry

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Mix the minced meat well with the other ingredients and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. Puff pastry is available frozen at Asian markets and is made from thin sheets. It usually comes in packs of 50. Defrost the puff pastry and then roll up enough meat to seal the roll easily. Roll the puff pastry diagonally, fold in the sides and seal the pointed end with a little water. Fry the rolls in a wok or pan in boiling oil until golden yellow. It is a little more difficult to do in a deep fryer because the rapid heat causes the rolls to expand and then open up slightly. The soy sauce and garlic can be varied according to taste. The lumpia are eaten hot and dipped in Asian chicken sauce. (Also available at Asian stores) Lumpia can also be filled with vegetables.
