Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes, small
  • 4 tbsp lard
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Roasted potatoes North German style

Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water until tender. Then let them dry thoroughly. Heat the lard in a large pan and fry the potatoes until golden brown, turning regularly. Then sprinkle with salt and powdered sugar. Continue frying briefly until the sugar has caramelized and the potatoes have turned a light brown.
