Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 80 g sugar
  • 150 ml milk
  • 375 g flour
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of cardamom powder
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 250 g butter
  • 75 g candied lemon peel
  • 200 g raisins (rum)
  • 100 g almonds, chopped
  • 200 g marzipan
  • e.g. powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Mix yeast with 1 teaspoon of sugar and milk. Let the pre-dough prove for about 15 minutes. Knead the remaining sugar, flour, vanilla sugar, salt, spices, egg, and 150g butter into the pre-dough until you have a smooth dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Knead in the candied lemon peel, rum raisins, and almonds. Roll out the dough and marzipan into a rectangle, leaving the marzipan slightly smaller than the dough. Place the marzipan on top, roll up from the longer side, shape into a stollen, and let rise again for about 20 minutes. Bake in the oven at 190°C for about 50 minutes. Melt the remaining butter. Immediately after baking, brush the stollen with melted butter and dust with icing sugar.
