Mac 'n' Cheese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g macaroni
  • 100 g condensed milk, unsweetened
  • 100 g Cheddar cheese, grated
  • some salt
  • some nutmeg, freshly grated
  • some chili powder
  • n. B. fried onions

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Place the macaroni in a wide saucepan and fill with water until just covered. Season lightly with salt and a little nutmeg and chili. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the water is completely absorbed or evaporated. This method retains all the starch that would otherwise be drained with the pasta water, creating a wonderful binding agent and a perfectly creamy sauce. Pour in the condensed milk and reduce the heat to low. Sprinkle with plenty of grated cheddar cheese and mix well. Once the cheese has melted and formed a nice, even mixture, the mac ‘n’ cheese is ready to serve. Crispy onions are an optional topping.
