Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Baked apples with port wine

Wash the apples, cut off one of the tops, remove the cores, and hollow them out, leaving a 2 cm wide crust. Crush the hollowed-out pulp in a mortar and pestle, mix it with 1 tablespoon of sugar, cinnamon, raisins, almonds, and pistachios, and stuff the apples into the crust. Grease an ovenproof dish with melted butter, place the apples in the dish, sprinkle with sugar, add knobs of butter, pour over the port, and place in a preheated oven (220°C/20-25 mins). Arrange the roasted apples in dessert bowls. Make a chocolate sauce from the melted chocolate, softened butter, and 2-3 tablespoons of apple juice from the baking dish. Whisk well and pour over the apples.
