Make Caramel Yourself – That’s How It Works

This is how you quickly make caramel yourself

The term “Caramelo” stands for “burnt sugar” and sugar is also the only ingredient you need to make caramel.

  • To make the caramel, first heat a pan. Put the table sugar in the hot pan, stirring constantly. As soon as the sugar melts, turn the heat down to the lowest setting.
  • Your caramel isn’t ready until the liquid sugar has turned golden.
  • Leave the liquid caramel to cool in a silicone mold. Alternatively, you can use a baking tray that you have previously provided with a layer of baking paper.
  • If the caramel is to serve as a decoration, have the appropriate pastry ready to hand. The caramelized sugar will harden very quickly.
  • If you want to prevent your sweets from becoming too hard, add a little milk to the sugar.
  • Of course, you can also refine your caramel – for example with cream, honey, or vanilla beans. The caramel variant with hazelnuts or almonds is always a hit. There are countless variations of the candy, you just have to use your imagination a little.
