Berliners are super easy to make and only require a few ingredients that you may already have at home. What you need:

  • To make your donuts, you need the necessary ingredients for the batter, frying, and filling.
  • You will get about 15-20 donuts for this recipe.
  • For the dough, you will need – 125ml milk.
  • 42g yeast (1 cube)
  • 500g flour (type 550)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • For the sweet cake, you will also need 75 g of sugar.
  • 72g butter (you can use margarine if you don’t have butter).
  • 2 (M) eggs.
  • You can also add bourbon vanilla for extra flavor.
  • 700ml-1l Oil – For frying.
  • Filling – you can decide for yourself, but we recommend delicious jam or chocolate as the simplest options.

When you have all the ingredients ready, prepare the dough as follows:

  1. Warm the milk slightly, and add a pinch of sugar and the yeast. Stir until the yeast has dissolved. Cover with a kitchen towel and let the mixture rest in a warm place for 15 minutes.
  2. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly before adding it to the mixture.
  3. Prepare the flour, salt, and remaining sugar together. Add the eggs and butter together. Mix well and pour the milk into the bowl.
  4. Use the mixer’s dough hooks to mix the dough well.
  5. Then cover the bowl with the dough and let it rest in a warm place for another 45 minutes.
