Make Your Own Hair Treatment – Three Simple Recipes For Every Hair Type

Why is it worth doing a hair treatment yourself? Very simple: With a DIY product, you save on questionable chemical ingredients and create a care booster that is perfectly tailored to your mane. We reveal three simple recipes for different hair types.

Make hair treatment yourself: dry hair

Is your hair dull and limp? A homemade DIY conditioner for dry hair breathes new life into the fibers. All you need: a ripe avocado, a teaspoon of lemon juice, and two tablespoons of olive oil. Avocado and olive oil contain valuable unsaturated fatty acids that strengthen and moisturize the hair.

All you need to do for this hair treatment: mash avocado pulp with a fork and mix with lemon juice and olive oil. Then massage the mass into your mid-lengths and ends. Leave on for thirty minutes and finally wash off with shampoo. Finished!

Tip: Since olive oil can weigh down fine hair, choose nourishing almond or wheat germ oil in this case. If your hair is very stressed, replace the olive oil in this hair treatment with coconut oil or argan oil. You can also use coconut oil if you make your own toothpaste.

Incidentally, this recipe is also suitable as a shine booster for normal hair and is of course suitable for sensitive scalps.

Make hair treatment for greasy hair yourself

Is your hair greasy quickly? Get rid of excess sebum with this regimen once or twice a week. For this, you need a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, 250 ml of water, and a squeeze of lemon juice. And this is how it works: Squeeze the lemon and mix it with apple cider vinegar and water. Then pour the mix into your roots and after about ten seconds, rinse upside down with warm water. The mixture also cleans your lengths. Good to know: This treatment also helps with dandruff and an itchy scalp.

How to make a hair treatment against split ends yourself

To counteract split ends and hair breakage, it is sufficient to use a hair treatment once a week, for which you need a ripe banana and three drops of almond oil. Mash the fruit with a fork and mix with the almond oil. Apply the treatment to your lengths and ends. Then leave it on for ten minutes and wash it out with shampoo or leave it on overnight.

A note at the end: your homemade hair mask should not be stored, but should always be used immediately.

Also part of the right hair care: the right hair wash. With our tips for homemade shampoo, you can do this too. You can find out here how best to dry your hair after washing your hair.
